What Is Sleep Apnea?

What to Expect

An overnight sleep study monitors brain activity, breathing, heart rate, oxygen levels, and body movements while you sleep. A trained sleep technologist ensures your comfort and safety throughout the night so your physician can accurately diagnose sleep disorders.

You’ll arrive in the evening, where sensors are gently placed on your head, chest, legs, and finger. Soft belts track breathing effort, and optional monitoring may include snoring and video recording for safety.

We begin with a detailed review of your symptoms, medical history, and risk factors to determine the most appropriate sleep testing or diagnostic approach.

Based on your needs, we perform in-lab sleep studies or home sleep apnea testing using advanced technology to deliver precise, reliable results.

After diagnosis, our board-certified specialists develop a customized treatment plan—focused on improving sleep quality, health outcomes, and long-term well-being.

At New Mexico Sleep Labs, we are dedicated to diagnosing and treating sleep disorders to help you achieve restful and restorative sleep.
